Republican US Senate candidate, Rep Roy Blunt is in the crosshairs again. A veterans group called VoteVets Action Fund, Inc. is airing a TV commercial in Missouri criticizing Rep Blunt's position on energy.
The commercial says Blunt is wrong to take money from oil companies while "opposing a bi-partisan effort to cut our dependence on foreign oil".
Late last year, the League of Conservation Voters also had a 3rd party TV commercial broadcast in Missouri critical of Rep. Blunt.
VoteVets says they're spending $600,000 to air the commercial over broadcast and cable outlets in Missouri.
They're running similar ads in six other states, using local veterans to make the same point.
In the Missouri spot, the veteran is identified as James Sander of Columbia, an Iraq veteran.
Some other ads are aimed at other Republicans. Democrat Evan Bayh of Indiana is also on the list.
