Veteran Organizer
Job Title: Veteran Organizer

Job Overview
VoteVets is seeking a dynamic and strategic organizer with a deep understanding of veteran and military family communities. This role requires exceptional communication skills and a strong understanding of organizing in a digital space to broaden and sustain an engaged community of Veterans, Military Families, and allies. The Veteran Organizer will play a key role in expanding VoteVets’ volunteer community, fostering meaningful connections, and bringing an innovative perspective to organizing with current and future technologies.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Cultivate and manage digital community groups on social media spaces to strengthen engagement.
- Organize and promote virtual events, including webinars, town halls, and online rallies, to engage supporters and expand reach.
- Provide strategic leadership for volunteers including training in using best practices and empowering them to participate in outreach efforts.
- Maintain digital organizing tools, including CRM and volunteer software.
- Help plan offline actions such as bus tours, fly-ins and press conferences.
- Design, implement, and lead effective organizing strategies to broaden VoteVets’ reach and membership of Veteran and Military Families.
- Expand and sustain community growth through an innovative approach, including proactive outreach to potential new community partners, and maintain existing relationships.
- Ensure message consistency by appraising possible partners, influencers, and communities to ensure messaging alignment with VoteVets’ mission and encouraging participation from Veterans and Military Families.
Qualifications
- Experience in political and/or community organizing.
- Deep understanding of Veteran and Military Family communities and the unique perspectives they bring.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with individuals and organizations.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of Facebook, X, BlueSky, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Threads.
- Creative and strategic mindset, willing to innovate and think outside the box to drive engagement.
- Openness to occasional travel.
- Experience in Veterans’ issues and progressive politics.
Objective: To expand VoteVets’ network of Veterans and Military Families to further our goal of elevating these voices.
The ideal candidate is a veteran with organizing experience and an understanding of digital platforms.

Compensation
The salary for this full-time position is $75,000 per year. Our competitive benefits package includes paid vacation, sick, and personal leave, health and dental insurance stipend (100%), and a 401k program including an employer match.
