VoteVets Endorses Jackie Gordon for Congress
Copiague, NY – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, is today endorsing Jackie Gordon for Congress.
“Jackie’s life is about service to others, which is something we need a lot more of, in politics, these days,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War veteran and Chair of VoteVets. “As an Iraq War veteran, Jackie learned what it meant to put others above yourself, and that’s something she carried back with her to Long Island. As a guidance counselor, a mentor, and public servant, Jackie has shown that spirit of service is limitless. Beyond that, Jackie’s respect for our military, and commitment to keeping America safe, is sorely needed in the era of Donald Trump. It’s time for a change in Washington, and veterans like us believe Jackie is a key part of that.”
Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Gordon served our country overseas as a platoon leader in Germany during Operation Desert Storm, as an operations officer at Guantanamo Bay during the Global War on Terror, as a captain in Baghdad during the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. She entered the United States Army Reserve on September 27, 1984 with the rank of Private First Class.
Her awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal -M-Device (3OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Overseas Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon (3OLC), Army Service Ribbon.
