VoteVets Statement on Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act

The Inflation Reduction Act delivers for veterans and their families, and for American national security.  For that, we have President Biden and Democrats to thank.

With hundreds of thousands of veterans and pir families on an Obamacare plan, extension of subsidies for many of us will literally help save our lives and the lives of our families. For those older veterans who served our nation through World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War and more, life-saving medication costs will be capped through their Medicare.

The Pentagon has warned multiple times that the climate crisis is a ‘threat multiplier’ that exacerbates threats to U.S security, and may cost troops’ lives. The job-creating investments in combating that crisis will make us energy independent, more secure, and will keep our military strong.

This is a huge win for veterans, troops and America. We thank President Biden and Democrats in Congress – and we won’t forget the Republicans who voted against Veterans.
