VoteVets Releases Ad in NC-09 Special Election

Former Army Trauma Surgeon says: “Dan Bishop’s allegiance to special interests doesn’t work for families around here.”

Charlotte, NC – The national veterans organization, VoteVets Action Fund, is up on the air today, for one week, with a $200,000 ad buy in the special election in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District.  VoteVets, which has endorsed Marine Veteran Dan McCready in the race, is running an ad that attacks McCready’s opponent for voting with big drug interests, over the people of the district who need relief from high health care costs.

You can view the ad here:  https://youtu.be/y2QAFRe2MZA

In the ad, Dr. Cynthia Lauer, a former Army Trauma Surgeon with three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan says, “Veterans like me are supporting Marine combat veteran Dan McCready, because Dan’s committed to working across the aisle to deliver quality health care to every family. But McCready’s opponent, Dan Bishop, was the only Republicans to vote with big drug companies, against bi-partisan legislation lowering prescription drug costs. Dan Bishop’s allegiance to special interests doesn’t work for families around here.”

In the North Carolina legislature, Bishop was the sole vote against the Pharmacy Patient Fair Practices Act, a bill that allowed pharmacists to discuss, and sell, lower-cost alternative drugs to consumers (https://www.ncleg.gov/Legislation/Votes/RollCallVoteTranscript/2017/S/451).
