VoteVets PAC Endorses Spearman for Congress
LAS VEGAS, NV – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, today is endorsing Dr. Patricia (Pat) Spearman to be US Representative for the 4th Congressional District of Nevada.
“Pat brings a real sprit of service to this race, that we frankly don’t see in enough races across the country,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets PAC. “Pat could have just gone into academia, and lived a nice life, considering how well she did in college. But she chose to dedicate her life to serving America, in uniform, rising to Lieutenant Colonel. That tells you what you need to know about her priorities. Right now, we need that kind of spirit in Washington, as well as her experience dealing with some of the biggest security challenges facing our nation. We’re proud to endorse her, and believe she will make an exemplary Member of Congress.”
According to her biography, Dr. Patricia (Pat) Spearman received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a teaching endorsement from Norfolk State University, graduated at the top of her Military Science class (ROTC), and received the coveted “Distinguished Military Graduate” award. Following graduation from college in 1977, she joined the United States Army, quickly moving up the ranks thanks to her courage and commitment.
During her 29 years of service, she served in the Army Operations Center of the Pentagon, graduated from the prestigious Command and General Staff College, and ascended to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Spearman served as the Army Criminal Investigations Division’s Anti-Terrorism/Counterterrorism Officer, Strategic, where she assisted in the training and development for staff and “Field Agents,” and was Command Liaison to FBI, ATF and other federal agencies for mission coordination.
She also served as the Army’s Crisis Action Center’s Staff Liaison to Army Chief of Staff for Readiness, Personnel and Logistics in support of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; Army Staff Liaison for unit training and mobilization in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
