VoteVets Launches District-Wide TV Ad for Damon Martinez

Ad stresses Martinez’s progressive work as US Attorney, leading up to his firing by Donald Trump

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The largest progressive veterans groups in America, VoteVets, today released a district-wide television ad buy in support of Damon Martinez’s campaign for Congress.  The ad, at a cost of nearly $40,000, will begin tomorrow, and run for nearly a week.  Combined with ads that Martinez’s campaign already has on the air, the VoteVets ad ensures that voters in the district are seeing a number of positive spots for Martinez.

The ad begins with Donald Trump, on the Apprentice, saying his catchphrase: “You’re Fired.”

On top of video of Martinez, and headlines that recount his work as US Attorney, a voiceover says: “Why did Donald Trump fire New Mexico’s US Attorney Damon Martinez? Because Martinez prosecuted corporations that pollute our environment. Because he cracked down on domestic violence and took assault weapons off the streets. Because he fought for his fellow veterans and our families. It’s time to send Trump a message: Our progressive values can’t be fired. That’s why we’re sending a progressive veteran – Damon Martinez – to Congress to fight Donald Trump.”
