VoteVets Endorses Mueri for Congress

PAINESVILLE, OH – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, is today endorsing Navy veteran Hillary O’Connor Mueri to be the next Member of Congress from the 14th Congressional District in Ohio. 

“Once again, Hillary O’Connor Mueri is stepping up to serve our nation and we could not be more proud to endorse her,” said Will Goodwin, Director of Government Relations at VoteVets. “Now more than ever we need a leader like Hillary, who combines courage, integrity, and a commitment to service, representing us in Washington. She will be a champion for veterans and all Ohioans in Congress.”

Mueri, a Navy combat veteran and 4th generation Ohioan, has dedicated her life to the service.  She was among a first generation of women trained from the ground-up to fly in combat for the Navy. As a Naval Flight Officer, she flew F-14s, F/A-18s, and F-16s, including 12 combat missions over Iraq in Tomcats.  

Hillary braved anti-aircraft artillery fire to provide air support to ground forces, saving American lives. For her service, her awards and commendations included: Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device, Navy Achievement Medal (twice), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Navy “E” Ribbon.

Since completing her military service, Hillary has continued to serve her community through pro-bono legal work devoted to helping women escape violence.
