VoteVets Endorses Mackler for Senate
NASHVILLE, TN – Representing over 600,000 veterans, military families, and civilian supporters, VoteVets PAC today is endorsing Iraq War Veteran James Mackler for Senate, to fill the seat currently held by Lamar Alexander.
“How many people would shut down their business, and ask the Army to make an age exception to let them enlist, so they could serve their country in war? Not many, and that’s why James Mackler is an exceptional American,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chair of VoteVets. “But, putting others before himself isn’t all that makes James a tremendous pick for Senator. His knowledge of the dangers we face from terrorism, and regimes that would do us harm, mean that he can go into the Senate with the knowledge and credibility to keep America safe, and our troops well taken care of. We’re thrilled to endorse him.”
James Mackler closed his law practice to join U.S. Army after 9/11. He earned an age waiver, learned to fly a Black Hawk helicopter, and did that in Iraq where he received an Air Medal and a Combat Action Badge. James later became an Army prosecutor serving in the JAG Corps. He left active duty in 2011.
