VoteVets Action Fund Launches $1.2 Million Ad Campaign Holding Ashley Hinson Accountable for Healthcare Cuts
Washington, DC. – Today, VoteVets Action Fund is launching a new $1.2 million ad campaign holding Representative Ashley Hinson accountable for her vote in favor of H.R. 9260, legislation that cuts Medicare and Medicaid, hands corporations a massive tax break, and leaves Iowa families and veterans facing double-digit premium hikes and shrinking access to care. The ad is part of the broader VoteVets Action Fund accountability campaign. It educates Iowans about her record and urges them to tell Hinson to reverse the healthcare cuts.
“Ashley Hinson had a choice, and she chose corporate tax breaks over Iowans’ health care,” said VoteVets Senior Advisor Max Rose. “Because of her vote, veterans are staring down double-digit premium hikes and watching their local hospitals pushed to the brink of closing. Hinson had every opportunity to put Iowans first. Instead, she sided with corporations and left veterans, seniors, and working families to pay the price. We are launching this campaign to make sure every Iowan knows exactly who she is and to hold her accountable.”
This ad campaign is part of VoteVets Action Fund’s larger effort to hold Washington D.C. policymakers accountable for gutting Americans’ health care. Earlier this July, VoteVets Action Fund launched a $1.6 million ad campaign holding Hinson accountable for her votes to continue the costly war in Iran, which drove up gas and fertilizer prices for Iowa families and farmers. VoteVets Action Fund continues to track how Members of Congress like Hinson vote against the interests of the veterans, service members, and working families it represents, and hold them accountable.
