BOMBSHELL REPORT: Trump struck Soleimani to please GOP Senators who he needs help from on Senate impeachment trial

VoteVets’ Goodwin: “The issue isn’t whether Qasem Soleimani deserved to die. He did. The question is whether we can assassinate people to make Senators happy and more likely to help Donald Trump through an impeachment.”

WASHINGTON, DC — In response to the bombshell reporting in the Wall Street Journal, this morning, that Donald Trump killed Qasem Soleimani to please GOP Senators whose help he’ll need during an impeachment trial, VoteVets’ Will Goodwin, Director of Government Relations, released the following statement:

“If there was no imminent threat, and if the killing of Qasem Soleimani was an act of retribution aimed at making potential impeachment jurors happy, it would be a gross abuse of power, and a reversal of a policy that Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama all followed – that the United States does not assassinate.  The issue isn’t whether Qasem Soleimani deserved to die. He did. The question is whether we can assassinate people to make Senators happy and more likely to help Donald Trump through an impeachment. The question is whether you can do that, and put our troops in great danger, as a result. If all of that is OK, we are on the precipice of losing our very republic.”
