Long before earning a reputation as one of Alabama’s most respected public servants, Ron Sparks forged his commitment to duty while serving in the United States Coast Guard. That foundational military service instilled the discipline and integrity that defined his career, from becoming a DeKalb County Commissioner at just 24 to serving two terms as Commissioner of Agriculture, where his executive leadership helped Alabama earn recognition for having the nation’s top Department of Agriculture. Widely trusted across the state, as demonstrated by winning 62 of 67 counties during his reelection, Ron carried that same mission-first mindset through senior leadership roles as President of NASDA and Senior Advisor to U.S. Senator Doug Jones, proving himself a lifelong champion for Alabama whose dedicated service was forged in uniform.
