Dan Helmer

Virginia-10, U.S. House of Representatives

Delegate Dan Helmer lives in Fairfax County with his wife, Karen, a public school educator, and their two sons. He is the son of an immigrant and the grandson of refugees and Holocaust survivors.

He is a West Point graduate and former active-duty Army Intelligence and Armor Officer who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he stood up the national Counterinsurgency Center. He subsequently served at US Special Operations Command where he deployed a specially trained team globally to conduct counterterrorism and other intelligence operations in support of national policy. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service in Afghanistan and has served on the faculty at the United States Military Academy in the Department of Social Sciences.

Since winning his House of Delegates election in 2019, Dan has represented tens of thousands of voters in the 10th Congressional District across Fairfax and Prince WIlliam Counties.
