Birch Evans “Beau” Bayh IV
Indiana, Secretary of State
- U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
A seventh-generation Hoosier, Beau Bayh’s commitment to public service is defined by his tenure as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Rising to the rank of Captain, Bayh graduated from the elite Scout Sniper Unit Leader’s Course and deployed globally to lead high-stakes missions. His service included training allied forces in the jungles of South America and a critical deployment to Europe in support of the American response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. During this time, he served within Project Maven, a top-secret intelligence program supporting vital U.S. and NATO operations.
Following his honorable discharge in 2023, Bayh transitioned his leadership experience into the legal field, earning a law degree from Harvard Law School and serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals. Today, he is driven by the core Marine Corps value of running toward the toughest fights rather than away from them. As a candidate for Secretary of State, Bayh intends to apply this military discipline to root out corruption, eliminate wasteful spending, and restore a sense of bipartisan common sense to Indiana’s government.
