VoteVets Endorses Nikki Foster for Congress, in Ohio
MASON, OH – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, is today endorsing Nikki Foster, to be the next Congressmember from the 1st District of Ohio.
“The thing that strikes us so much about Nikki Foster isn’t just her impressive record as a pilot, in some of the most dangerous places in the world, it’s that she came back home and started to help her fellow veterans as a volunteer, while helping raise a family,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chair of VoteVets. “Nikki never forgot where she came from, and who needs her. That’s a spirit of family and community that is missing from too many of our Washington politicians. Some people say character doesn’t count, anymore. We disagree. We know that she’s had our backs, time and again. Now, we’ve got hers. We are proud to endorse her.”
After 9/11, Foster signed up for pilot training in the US Air Force. In her twelve years of active duty, she deployed to the Middle East five times and commanded more than half of her 217 combat missions. Nikki attained the rank of Major. Her military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, eight Air Medals, and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. In 2015, she was accepted into General Electric Aviation’s premier veterans Junior Officer Leadership Program in Evendale, Ohio. Today she is a GE Veterans Network hire pillar leader and works to hire veterans from all branches of service into the company. She also volunteers as a veteran career transition counselor for Hire Heroes USA. Nikki lives in Mason, Ohio with her husband, Rob, and her sons, Wyatt and Henry.
