Dwayne Romero
Colorado-03, U.S. House of Representatives
- U.S. Army Veteran
- Gulf War
Dwayne Romero is a decorated combat veteran, former Army Ranger, and dedicated public servant running for Congress in Colorado’s Third Congressional District. During his seven years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Dwayne earned a Bronze Star for leadership valor as a Combat Engineer Executive Officer during the Persian Gulf War. Following his military service at Fort Carson, Dwayne and his wife, Margaret—a Gold Star family member and kindergarten teacher of 25 years—built their life in Colorado, where they have lived for over 35 years and raised three daughters, two of whom have also answered the call to serve as military officers.
Rooted in a strong ethic of community leadership, Dwayne has spent decades giving back as both a public official and a successful local entrepreneur. He served as Director of Economic Development under Governor John Hickenlooper to create good-paying jobs and strengthen the middle class, alongside holding key local roles on his City Council, School Board, and Water and Sanitation Board. Today, as a Western Slope small business owner employing 120 Coloradans, Dwayne combines military discipline with practical economic experience—making him uniquely equipped to fight Washington dysfunction, defend freedoms, and lower the cost of living for working families across the district.
