VoteVets PAC Endorses Luke Bronin for Congress in CT-01
Washington, DC. – Today, VoteVets PAC is announcing that it is endorsing Luke Bronin in Connecticut’s First Congressional District. A Rhodes Scholar, Luke volunteered to serve in Afghanistan in 2010 and worked as a Navy intelligence officer on the U.S. military’s anti-corruption task force. From 2016 to 2024, Luke served as the mayor of Hartford, where he tackled the city’s biggest challenges with honesty and urgency. Luke led the effort to save Hartford from bankruptcy and stabilize its finances. He drove record investments in housing, with thousands of new or rehabilitated affordable and market-rate units. He also created the nationally-recognized Hartford Youth Service Corps, led the city through the pandemic, and made public safety a priority. The following quote can be attributed to VoteVets Senior Advisor, Former Congressman Max Rose:
“This is a special moment in our politics and our history. We cannot sit on the sidelines when we have an incredible candidate like Luke who has been a fierce public servant both in and out of uniform. As we look to the future of the Democratic Party and the future of our country, success lies in passing the baton to a new generation of leadership – leaders who aren’t career politicians, but individuals who are stepping up to serve again. Luke is one of those leaders, and we are proud to be in this fight with him.”
