VoteVets Action Fund Launches $500k Ad Campaign in Virginia Governor’s Race

VoteVets’ Total Virginia Investment Now At $1 Million

Washington, DC. – Today, VoteVets Action Fund is announcing that it is launching a $500k ad campaign in Virginia and debuting the first creative spot of this early paid media investment. The fully integrated paid media campaign, which will run through Election Day, will use the credibility of local Veterans in ads to shape public perception of the Republican nominee among moderate Independent and Republican swing voters. From now through Election Day, VoteVets will be keeping the GOP campaign on defense and aggressively working to reach voters that others in the Democratic ecosystem can’t. The first ad to be featured in this media campaign, “The Cost,” is launching today and features an Air Force Veteran named Ken, who calls out Winsome Earle-Sears for protecting billionaires at the expense of the middle class as prices continue to rise. Recent polling has shown cost of living is top of mind for voters in Virginia as they prepare to vote this November.

This media buy will target voters on broadcast, streaming, and on Spotify starting in the Richmond and Norfolk media markets. This announcement follows the initial direct investment of $500k VoteVets PAC made to the Spanberger campaign earlier this cycle – a historic figure. A national security professional who has been a VoteVets-endorsed candidate since her first Congressional run, when she flipped a competitive House seat, Spanberger became the recipient of the largest single donation in the 20-year history of VoteVets.

Creative copy of additional ads to follow in the coming weeks.

AD TRANSCRIPT:

Ken: “After eleven years in the Air Force, starting a business and a family here in Virginia was a no brainer. But the cost of living — is out of control  — and Winsome Earle-Sears… would make it worse. A sales tax on groceries? She voted to keep it. New tariffs that’ll drive prices even higher?”

Clip of Winsome Earle-Sears: “I understand tariffs can hurt. And I think that’s good.”

Ken: “But billionaires? She pledged no new taxes on them.”

Clip of Winsome Earle-Sears: “Absolutely.”

Ken: “You don’t have to guess whose side Winsome Earle-Sears is on. Not ours.”

VoteVets Treasurer Voiceover: “VoteVets Action Fund sponsored this advertising.”
