VoteVets PAC Endorses Spanberger for Governor of Virginia
HENRICO, Va. — The first and largest progressive group of Veterans — VoteVets PAC — today endorsed U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger to serve as the next Governor of Virginia.
VoteVets PAC praised Spanberger for her consistent work on behalf of Virginia’s Veterans — including her support for the bipartisan Honoring Our PACT Act. This law marks the largest expansion of U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits in a generation, and it includes Spanberger’s measure to investigate the negative impacts of jet-fuel exposure on the long-term health of America’s Veterans.
“Abigail Spanberger will be an incredible Governor, and we’re proud to endorse her,” said U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Travis Tazelaar, Political Director, VoteVets PAC. “Her career has been about her commitment to protecting our Constitution and delivering for the people she serves. Her ability to rise above division and get things done for her community, Commonwealth, and country is the spirit of service that we need more now than ever. She’s been a great friend to the Veterans community and to all those who serve in uniform. She’s had our backs, always, and we’re going to have hers.”
“Virginia has a proud record of military service, and our Commonwealth is home to tremendous individuals and organizations dedicated to supporting those who have borne the battle,” said Spanberger. “VoteVets PAC understands the mission ahead — delivering on our promises to our Veterans while protecting the Constitution they swore to protect. I thank them for their support and their unwavering commitment to our bravest citizens.”
Since arriving in Congress, Spanberger has also led bipartisan efforts that have been signed into law to help Veterans access new job opportunities as they transition to the civilian workforce, as well as to recognize the service of America’s Atomic Veterans. Additionally, she has hosted many Veteran-focused events to hear concerns directly from Virginia’s Veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and military families.
“In Congress, I’ve worked tirelessly to make sure our Veterans receive the benefits, recognition, and healthcare they’ve earned through their service,” continued Spanberger. “And as Governor, I will work with both parties to increase career opportunities for our Veterans, strengthen access to mental health resources, hold the VA accountable when necessary, and make our Commonwealth an even better place to live for our military families.”
Spanberger is the daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter of U.S. Armed Forces Veterans.
