VoteVets’ Response to Senate GOP’s Speeches on Military Promotions Being Blocked By Tommy Tuberville

WASHINGTON, DC – Mary Kaszynski, the Director of Government Relations for VoteVets, the nation’s largest progressive group of Veterans, today released this statement in regard to floor speeches last night made by a number of GOP Senators against Senator Tommy Tuberville’s block on military promotions:

“We are pleased that a number of Senate Republicans finally admit what we’ve been saying for months — the block on military promotions hurts our national security and puts Troops at risk, needlessly.

“But if Republicans in the Senate are as concerned as they say they are about military promotions being blocked, they need to sign on to Majority Leader Schumer’s plan to get these promotions done, so our military can be as strong as it needs to be in these extraordinarily dangerous times.”
