Hawaiʻi-2, U.S. House of Representatives

  • National Security Professional

Patrick Pihana Branco is the State Representative for Hawaiʻi House District 50 (Kailua and Kāne‘ohe Bay). He was born and raised in Kailua, and spent his summers at his great-grandfather’s farm on the Big Island. He graduated from the Kamehameha Schools, and received his BA from Hawaʻ’i Pacific University and MA from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C. Drawn to public service, Patrick joined the U.S. Foreign Service as a Diplomat in 2012. He served tours in Colombia, Pakistan, the Office of the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Secretary of State’s Operations Center, and Venezuela. In some of the world’s most unstable areas, Patrick brought people together in defense of democracy, human rights, and equality. Since his election to the Hawai’i House of Representatives in 2020, Patrick has brought that same approach to the State Legislature, building coalitions as he advocates for the people of Hawai’i. Patrick is running for Congress to represent Hawaiʻi’s 2nd District to lower the ever-rising cost of living that’s pricing families out of Hawaiʻi, enact federal solutions to the climate crisis that’s threatening the health and way of life of Hawaiʻi’s people, and bring needed federal resources back to Hawaiʻi.
